MTI’s Automotive Technology Academy specializes in high-tech training for today’s computerized cars. This program prepares students for employment and/or specialized training in the highly competitive automotive industry. Representatives from local automotive companies share their experiences and connect students to employment opportunities. Automotive students train on state-of-the-art equipment and can earn industry certifications, Gold Seal Scholarship opportunities and college credits at CFCC. Law & Government Academy – supported by Marion County Bar Association
If you are intrigued by how the wheels of justice turn, or the processes involved in local, state and national government, the Law & Government Academy at MTI could tip the scales in your favor for a wide variety of careers! Some of those careers are: Attorney, Court Reporter, Government Administrator, Paralegal, Law Enforcement and many more! Students enrolled in this unique program attend many of their law and government classes at the Marion County Courthouse with some sessions held in actual courtrooms, jury rooms, law library and our very own Courtroom at MTI! Interaction with top community leaders in law and government with opportunities for internships and college credits are significant benefits of this program. Have you considered a career in business, finance or perhaps becoming your own boss? MTI’s Business & Finance Academy will prepare you for a future you can take to the bank. This academy offers limitless career opportunities with a foundation built on Microsoft© software certification and entrepreneurship and emergence into e-commerce. Students will study the world of business through the combination of academics, operating a student-run, school-based enterprise, participating in Future Business Leaders of American (FBLA) activities, Junior Achievement (JA)®, along with the opportunity for business-related internships, training in a variety of business locations, and interacting with community business leaders. This academy has Level III (weighted credit) courses, Gold Seal Scholarship opportunities, Microsoft certifications, and up to 15 Career Pathways College Credits at the College of Central Florida. National Certifications Available: IC3®, Microsoft Certified Applications Specialist (MCAS)® exams: MCAS Word, MCAS Excel, MCAS PowerPoint, or MCAS Outlook. With all four MCAS certifications, students receive Microsoft Office Master Certification!

Production and Design Technology Academy – sponsored by Lockheed Martin & Marion Regional Manufacturing Association (MRMA)
The IET Academy offers a well-rounded education for those interested in industrial engineering and manufacturing technology. This program uses Amatrol’s Virtual Integrated Technology Concepts (VITC), coupled with hands-on experience in a wide range of engineering technologies using industrial quality equipment and software programs. Students have manufactured toys for underprivileged children, yard games as well as holes for a miniature golf course. These projects enhance teamwork, problem solving and creative skills. Team-based projects give students the chance to demonstrate their mastery of the technical skills learned in the virtual lab while learning essential workplace skills. Students are also provided the opportunity to tour manufacturing facilities in the area with a field trip scheduled each month. Hands-on experience, teamwork, internships, national certifications, and Gold Seal Scholarship opportunities, as well as college credits at CF for coursework and Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC®) certification, can seal the deal for your college education or immediate access to a rewarding career! Information Technology: PC Support Services Program – sponsored by Century Link
When it comes to getting the right connections, MTI’s Information Technology Academy has the right functions. This program offers a sequence of courses that provides relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and/or careers in the Information Technology career field. Certified students will be qualified to step into any of a number of high-paying positions within this field. Hands-on training in academy classes combined with paid internships in a variety of local companies will open doors of opportunity for MTI students. Experience with hardware, software and networking systems is a deciding factor for placing your resume at the top of a recruiter’s stack when it comes to job competition. Earn up to 21 hours of college credits and the following national certifications: Microsoft Office Specialist (MOSTM), Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technical, A+, Network + and IC3.

Career Academy at MTI:
The MTI Career Academy is offered through an articulation agreement between MTI and CF – College of Central Florida. Open to eligible seniors interested in dual enrollment, the Career Academy offers students the opportunity to complete senior requirements while getting a head start in college. Students enrolled in the Career Academy meet on the CF campus and may earn a maximum of 36 semester hours of college credit. Programs of study might include, but are not limited to: Business Administration & Finance, Health Occupations, Law Enforcement & Social Services, Early Childhood Education, Drafting & Design, and Computer Sciences.
The Career Academy offers a separate option for students interested in Firefighter/EMT. Students complete high school courses at CF and attend Firefighter I first semester and EMT second semester. All FF/EMT courses will be taught at Marion County Fire Rescue Services. Students who complete the program and pass the state EMT certification test will be given priority status for admission to the Florida State Fire College for post-secondary training.
Business Partners invest in MTI students through academy sponsoring, career coaching, field trips, guest speaking and paid internships; providing excellent preparation for a solid career and high wage employment.
Clubs and Activities - Students can attend extracurricular activities at their base high schools (depending on schedules) - including sports, clubs, and social events. MTI also offers a variety of campus clubs such as Student Government, Leadership, FBLA®, SkillsUSA®, FCA®, and SOS, as well as campus activities such as Career Expos, monthly career/corporate training workshops, field trips, dances, and more!
If you will be a Junior or Senior next year and are interested in continuing post-secondary education in a specific career field, entering into the military or finding immediate employment upon graduation then MTI is your best choice.
