    mti automotive technologyMTI’s Automotive Technology Academy specializes in high-tech training for today’s computerized cars. This program prepares students for employment and/or specialized training in the highly technical automotive industry. Representatives from local automotive companies share their experiences and connect students to employment opportunities. Students will receive hands-on training in the choice of two career paths: automotive technology or our new Small Gas Engine Technology program. Automotive students will train on state-of-the-art equipment and can earn industry certifications, Gold Seal Scholarship opportunities and college credits at CFCC. National Certifications Available: Automotive Service Excellence (ASE®), SP/2®, OSHA® (Note: ASE Certification requires passing the ASE Exam and 2 years of industry work experience.   • Law & Government Academy – If you are intrigued by how the wheels of justice turn, or the processes involved in local, state and national government, the Law & Government Academy at MTI could tip the scales in your favor for a wide variety of careers! Some of those careers are: Attorney, Court Reporter, Government Administrator, Paralegal, Law Enforcement and many more! Students enrolled in this unique program attend many of their law and government classes at the Marion County Courthouse with some sessions held in actual courtrooms, jury rooms and the law library! Interaction with top community leaders in law and government with opportunities for internships and college credits are significant benefits of this program. National Certification Available: Accredited Legal Secretary (ALS).

  • Building Construction Technology – sponsored by Marion CountyMTI Building Contruction Technology Building Industry Assoc. Careers in the building and design industry such as masons, framers, electricians, drafters, plumbers, HVAC technicians, building designers, surveyors, and geotechnical specialists abound. Students will receive hands-on training in building construction technology while receiving instruction from a wide variety of local industry professionals. This training enables students to seek immediate employment or transfer college credits to SFCC’s building construction program, as well as earn national certifications, and Gold Seal Scholarship opportunities. Computer Aided Drafting & Design (CADD) is a recommended elective for this program.

    MTI Business & Finance AcademyHave you considered a career in business, finance or perhaps becoming your own boss? This academy offers limitless career opportunities with a foundation built on Microsoft software certification and general business practices. Students can elect to study in the world of business, finance, or entrepreneurship through the combination of academics, business-related internships and training at a variety of business locations. Students will major in Business Supervision and Management which trains students in entrepreneurship, legal aspects of business, and business supervision. The Entrepreneurship concentration affords students the opportunity to write their own business plan and implement a small business while holding classes periodically at Gateway Bank! Both programs offer Microsoft® certifications. In addition, many of the Business and Finance Academy’s local business partners comprised of bankers, business persons, government officials, lawyers, and judges offer internship, job shadowing, and field trip opportunities. This academy offers national certifications, Bright Futures Gold Seal Scholarship opportunities, and up to 12 college credits at CFCC.     MTI is cooking up a great future for students interested in culinary arts and pastries. Would you like to prepare meals like the best chefs in town? Would you like to whip up scrumptious breads, pastries, and rolls? MTI students have the opportunity to learn these skills as well as mastering the art of dining room management. This academy features a fine dining facility, bakery, and coffee shop all on-site and operated by MTI students. This academy offers Gold Seal Scholarship opportunities, national certifications, and paid internship opportunities.   • Industrial Engineering Technology – sponsored by Lockheed Martin & MTI Industrial Engineering TechnologyMarion Regional Manufacturing Association (MRMA) A variety of career paths are available when you pursue industrial engineering technology. This program provides students with a foundation of knowledge and technically oriented experiences in the study of automation technology, its application in manufacturing, engineering and robotics, and its effect upon our lives and the choosing of an occupation. The content and activities will also include computerized drafting and design (CADD), the study of enterprise systems, safety, quality, and leadership skills focusing on transferable skills, and will stress the understanding and demonstration of the technological tools, machines, instruments, materials, processes and systems in business and industry. Whether your career interests are in management, procurement, manufacturing, or distribution, you can see the finished product that exists because you played a role in its creation! This program uses Amatrol’s Virtual Integrated Technology Concepts (VITC) with hands-on experience with industrial quality equipment and software. Team-based projects give students the chance to demonstrate their mastery of the technical skills learned in the virtual lab and CADD while learning essential workplace skills such as teamwork, creative problem solving, and design skills. Hands-on experience with producing and marketing a product, teamwork, internships, national certifications, and Gold Seal Scholarship opportunities, as well as up to 15 college credits at CFCC for coursework and Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC®) certification leading to an A.S.   • Drafting and Design (Computer Aided Drafting-CADD) is available through the Industrial Engineering Technology Academy and includes hands-on drafting and design components using the most recent version of AutoCAD software. By partnering with Marion County Building Industry Association, students interface with our industry partners who provide expertise and internship opportunities to jump start a drafting and design career!   • Information Technology: User Support Specialist Program – sponsored by Embarq MTI Information Technology
    This program will prepare you for employment in network, help desk, and PC support positions and include basic hardware configuration, hardware and software troubleshooting, operating systems, software applications, computer networking, with an exciting new gaming software simulation and FLASH® game creation component! This program is ideal for students interested in technology and computer industry careers! Gold Seal Scholarship opportunities, training-related internships, national certifications, and up to 21 college credits can seal the deal for your college education or immediate access to a rewarding career!     This exciting program is for those students interested in pursuing lucrative careers in the electrical and utilities industries. This program partners with Progress Energy, Ocala Electric Utilities (OEU) and Sumter Electric Utilities (SECO), and a variety of local electrical industry employers who provide hands-on pre-apprenticeship electrical training, field trips, and equipment!   • CFCC’s Career Academy is available at MTI as a 100% Dual Enrollment program open to eligible seniors who are interested in pursuing a career goal while earning college credits. Students are 100% dual-enrolled at Central Florida Community College while completing high school courses. Examples of dual enrollment opportunities are: Criminal Justice & Fire Science, Health & Social Services Occupations, Agriculture & Equine Studies.

  • Business Partners invest in MTI students through academy sponsoring, career coaching, field trips, guest speaking and paid internships; providing excellent preparation for a solid career and high wage employment.

  • Clubs and Activities - Students can attend extracurricular activities at their base high schools (depending on schedules) - including sports, clubs, and social events. MTI also offers a variety of campus clubs such as Student Government, Leadership, FBLA®, SkillsUSA®, FCA®, and SOS, as well as campus activities such as Career Expos, monthly career/corporate training workshops, field trips, dances, and more!
