Web Design (Information Technology Career Cluster)
Note: Competency in the use of computers is a requirement for all degree seeking students at Central Florida Community College. One option to satisfy this requirement is satisfactory completion of a one-credit high school computer course.

Introduction to Information Technology (8207310)
Grades 9-12.
This course provides an introduction to information technology concepts and careers. The content includes keyboarding, operating systems, software applications, and electronic communications. This course starts with developing keyboarding skills then progresses to word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations. Basic HTML and Web design will also be covered. This course satisfies the practica/performingl arts graduation requirement.
- Foundations of Web Design (9001110)
Grades 10-11; Introduction to IT and Teacher recommendation required.
This course is designed to provide a basic overview of the Internet, Intranet, and the World Wide Web. The content includes operating systems; basic HTML commands; navigation of the Internet, Intranet, and Web; and Web page design. Students will create web sites using Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, Photoshop, basic HTML, and CSS. This course satisfies the practica/performingl arts graduation requirement.

Web Design 2 (8207120)
Grades 11-12; Web Design 1 and Teacher recommendation required.
This course provides advanced concepts for Internet, Intranet, and Web design. The content includes Internet/Intranet tools, Web site promotion, advanced HTML commands, advanced page design, and multimedia applications. Students will create web sites using Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, basic HTML and CSS. This course receives honors weighting for the district GPA calculations. This course satisfies the practica/performingl arts graduation requirement.

Web Design 3 (8207130)
Grade 12; Web Design 2 and Teacher recommendation required.
This course provides advanced concepts in HTML, design, and Internet tools. Students will create web sites using Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, as well as basic HTML and CSS. Students completing Web Design 1, 2, and 3 will, at the end of Web Design 3 take the Adobe Certified Associate (Dreamweaver) exam. Upon passing this exam, students will earn this certification. This course receives honors weighting for the district GPA calculations. This course satisfies the practica/performingl arts graduation requirement.
