Digital Video Production/Television Production (Arts, A/V Technology & Communication Career Cluster)

Note: The Television Production program is being phased out and is being replaced by Digital Video Production.

  • Digital Video Production 1 (8772410)
    Grades 9-10

    This is an introductory level course designed to teach students to assume responsibility for overall production of television studio activities including: script writing and marking, lighting, audio production, filming, producing, directing and video editing for studio and field production. This course satisfies the practica/performingl arts graduation requirement.
  • Television Production 2 (8772120)
    Grades 10-11; TV Production 1 and Teacher recommendation required.

    This is a broadcast journalism course designed around and dedicated to the morning announcement/news show at Forest High School. While students will be encouraged to try all phases of the production experience, they will begin to specialize in their area of interest and expertise. This course satisfies the practica/performingl arts graduation requirement.

  • Television Production 3 (8772130)
    Grades 11-12; TV Production 2 and Teacher recommendation required.

    This is an intensive study of the video medium with students expected to produce and enter competition quality video productions. This course is intended for the student looking at some phase of TV Production as a career choice. Students completing Television Production 1, 2, and 3 will, at the end of TV Production 3 take the Apple Certified Professional (Final Cut Pro) exam. Upon passing this exam, students will earn this certification. This course receives honors weighting for the district GPA calculations.

  • Television Production 4 (8772140)
    Grade 12; TV Production 3 and Teacher recommendation required.

    This is an intensive college preparatory course in video production. TV Productions 4 is intended for the mature student with plans to study Video Production, Broadcast Journalism, or some form of video development at the college level. Students will develop and produce complex and technically accomplished video productions with the goal of developing a portfolio and contest entry. This course receives honors weighting for the district GPA calculations.
