Grade 9
Health Opportunities through Physical Education provides students with opportunities to develop an individual optimal level of physical fitness, and enhance critical life skills necessary to make sound decisions regarding healthy and effective living. This involves classroom activities as well as physical activities.
PE Waiver: Students who complete at least two years of ROTC may use the ROTC course to meet the 1/2 credit PE requirement.

Team Sports I (1501350)
Grade 9; 1/2 credit
This course enables students to develop knowledge and skills in specified team sports and to maintain or improve health-related fitness.

Team Sports II (1501360)
Grade 9; ½ credit
This course enables students to develop knowledge and skills in specified team sports and to maintain or improve health-related fitness as well as evaluating skill patterns of self and/or opponents.

Fitness Lifestyle Design (1501310)
Grade 10; ½ credit
The purpose of this course is to develop a lifestyle plan that includes the important components of cardiovascular, flexibility, strength, endurance, and proper nutrition.

Beginning Weight Training (1501340)
Grades 10; 1/2 credit
The purpose of this course is to enable students to
acquire basic knowledge and skills in weight training, improve muscular strength
and endurance, and begin to enhance self-image.
- Personal Fitness Trainer (1501380)
Grade 11; ½ credit
The purpose of this course is to enable students to determine the health-related benefits associated with certain physical activities and lifestyle choices.

Intermediate Weight Training (1501350)
Grades 11; 1/2 credit
The purpose of this course is to enable students to
develop intermediate-level knowledge and skills in weight training, further
improve muscular strength and endurance, and further enhance self-image.
- Advanced Weight Training (1501360)
Grades 12; 1/2 credit
The purpose of this course is to enable students to
develop advanced knowledge and skills in weight training, further improve
muscular strength and endurance, and further enhance self-image.
