The FCAT Explorer is free, online practice program from the Florida Department of Education. It features three practice programs created especially for high school students: Reading Timeline, Math Timeline, and Science Mission.

All three programs offer practice for the skills tested on the FCAT and feature many tools to help you get the most of your study time. Reading Timeline offers 23 reading passages with over 249 practice questions to help you do your best on the FCAT. Math Timeline contains 139 math questions and features an online calculator and a handy formula reference sheet. Science Mission features 202 science questions in eight science areas.

Best of all, the FCAT Explorer is online, which means you can use if on any computer connected to the Internet: at school, at the library, even at home. Your performance on the test can benefit from the extra time you spend studying math and reading on the FCAT Explorer.

To get your free FCAT Explorer sign-in name and password, follow the instructions below.

• Your username is your last name followed by your first initial. (Use your legal name, not a nickname or middle name.)

• Your password is the number 42 followed by the first 4 letters of your last name, followed by your two-digit birth month and two-digit birth day.

For example:

• Loretta Young's username would be youngl.

• Since her birthday is January 13, her password would be 42youn0113.

If you are following the above instructions but still cannot access your FCAT Explorer account, please see one of your teachers or your guidance counselor.

Teacher Account Information

Teachers also have FCAT Explorer accounts. Information on accessing a teacher account can be found on the school's Intranet (aka the "I" drive or FHS shared drive).
